I guess those of us who find Mustangs nauseating in the first place may feel differently. The Mustang has always been a two-door sports car and it has never been rare, in any sense of the word. "Ubiquitous" would be a better description. Because of that, the Mustang is boring to me. Dress it up all you want, it's still a Mustang at the core, which equals boring (to me). To get me interested in a Mustang, Ford would have to get me to believe that it's somehow different; that it stands out from the crowd. I happen to be partial to sports sedans, so putting two more doors on it (a la Australia's Ford Falcon), is a good way to do it. Of course, I'd like it even better if they didn't call that a Mustang ("Falcon" has a nice ring to it ;)), but by that point, I've morphed this into a completely different topic.
