Martin, We did have one batch of Fanzilla's that "Bobzilla" had decided to contract out the assembly of to an outside vendor. The boards were not properly washed to remove the flux and we did have some cross-feed current problems. It was soon discovered and we quickly recalled the units and only about a dozen made it out the door. Almost undoubtedly this was a unit that "slipped through the cracks" of our recall and I'm sure Bob would make good on it if it was returned. This is why he has steadfastly refused to allow any one other than himself to assemble them since and is why they have been unavailable until he can devote time to making another batch. Other than this batch the failure rate from all causes including abuse and incorrect installation has been less than one percent after TWELVE YEARS! Your incessant nitpicking of Zilla products is counterproductive and I'd suggest if you can build a better mousetrap then go ahead so we can all critique your products. You don't seem to like anything but complaining! The "fault" was blamed on the wiring in that particular car, which I first checked and did do some repair work, but nothing that should have affected the Zilla. Without taking the FanZilla apart,, I worked out the problem was a lack of a pull-down resistor on the sense wire. I don't like the fan fix either FWIW! It is as Rob said - a big relay in a box. No idea why it should hum though. Martin Packodenton@xxxxxxx wrote: > > > Hello All, > > My email below has nothing to do with favoritism between vendors or > personalities.
