I've heard $3.49 from a friend of mine in the area. And the lines are
around the block.

Seems you have to fill up on every trip out, just because the price will
be different when you get back. Another rumor is that NC is just about
dry...

Again, I don't want to start any rumors but heard Atlanta, GA is up to
$6.00 a gallon in some areas.  Is anyone on here from there and can
confirm this?

Current price here varies from 95.9p/litre to 89.9p/litre for diesel. 
The latter was at one Shell station in Southend-on-Sea today, and the 
pumps were packed being 2p/litre cheaper than anywhere else. I put £50 
in the tank and still didn't fill it.

That's $6.13 per US gallon at UK pump prices. Slightly cheaper for 
unleaded at 86.9p/l but quit wingeing you lot :-)

AND we're an oil exporter.
