Brand new Optima Red top.  I do, tho, have the original 90 amp 
Motorola alternator that was rebuilt by a well-meaning mechanic in 
an effort to save me some money.  Not the choice I would have 
made.

Funny you should say that.  My husband was taunting me that he 
can start his SAAB turbo with the fans on altho when I just asked 
him about it, there seems to be a switch that turns them off 
momentarily til the engine turns over.  

Good luck with your cold/hot start problems.  Wish I could offer as 
much advice as I ask for ;)
