Estate cars are common, as are Land Rovers (esp where I live which has a 
lot of farmland around), ditto bona fide 4x4 trucks from Toyota et al. 
Myself, I have a 3/4 ton trailer for the back of my car. I rarely need 
it though.

You have to ask yourself how many journeys you make where the truck is 
actually used to transport stuff. Traders over here would buy a van to 
carry stuff if you need to carry stuff around all the time.
