What tool do I need, and how do I use it, to measure the surface
difference on the flywheel between the outer ring and the inner
(clutch disk) ring? I need to find out whether the flywheel is OK or
not.
I'd assumed a caliper would do this, but it's not going to give me an
accurate difference due to the back of the flywheel also being
stepped. Besides, the measurement "teeth" on my caliper aren't long
enough to reach that far into the flywheel. I did measure the
thickness of the flywheel on the outer ring at 0.746, but now I need
to know how much higher the clutch disk surface is.
I looked all over last night for a proper tool, trying to explain what
I wanted to do to various tool salesmen, and nobody knew what I was
talking about. :)
