Re: [DMCForum] Re: Clutch woes

Holy crap, then, I think that's the problem. Thankfully I paid
attention when I took it apart this time, so I know which way I had it
installed.

There are two "things" that stick out from the clutch disk:

1. The splined shaft.
2. The funny center part with the springs in it.

The side that has the springs in it, is also the side where the shaft
sticks out the least. Here is a picture of that side:

So what I'm hearing is, THIS side should go toward the flywheel?
Because, I had it installed with this side toward the pressure plate.
See, the funny center part with the springs in it just fits right down
into the cavity on the pressure plate. So I assumed this is how it
went. (In the picture above, if you let the clutch disk fall into the
pressure plate that's sitting on the floor, that's how I had it).

And this could cause my exact problem?

So if I just reverse this and put it all back together, I should be
good as gold? Or is it possible I damaged something and should buy
some new parts?

And it looks like I can forget that stupid clip on the clutch fork
then, too. Sweet. I'll remove what's left of it and leave it at that.
