[DMCForum] oil in the intake manifold (dodge monaco/eagle premier question)

Hey all you smart PRV people,

I'm tearing down the Dodge Monaco engine I just purchased to install
it into the D, and I found that the intake manifold had about 1/4 cup
of oil in it.  What causes this?  I don't believe this engine has PCV,
per se, but it does ventilate to the intake through the
oil-filler-cap-type thing.  The engine only has 35K on it and is from
1991.
