Yes they do put dye into off road fuel. The local DOT only does spot
checks on big rigs, I have never heard of them busting anyone except
when and idiot trys to fill up their truck at the pump.
At one time the off-road fuel was slight less processed and contained
more sulfur that would hurt the newer automotive engines. However with
all the restrictions in most places the fuel is the same, but the
delivery tank driver adds some dye.
