It looks like Mobile is where Ivan is looking to land.
I have boarded up the windows and laid in supplies for the duration.
Fortunately, I'm inland and up high enough that flooding will not be a
problem unless it is a flood like Noah had to deal with.
Keep us in your prayers.

PS, don't bother starting an argument against God, because I will not
participate in it.

I forgot that I could post messages via Yahoo's website. Doh.
For those of you interested, the latest word here is that Ivan is not going
to make landfall quite as far east as they had expected (hoped?). They're
now expecting it to make landfall about 7am Thursday near Gulfport, MS.
Gulfport's about 100 miles east, and the hurricane is about 200 miles in
diameter, so we're expecting hurricane-force winds here as the edge of the
storm scrapes by. The good news is maximum sustained winds have dropped
below 140mph. The bad news is they expect them to rise to about 145mph
before Ivan makes landfall.
Personal note: I'm glad I don't have any family to look after. And although
I have a flashlight which will run forever without batteries and a brand-new
windshield for my truck, I have a strong craving for Doritos and Coca-Cola,
and I have a feeling the grocery stores will be
a.) mobbed and b.) out of Doritos and Coca-Cola by the time I get to one of
them tonight. Drat. :\
I'll keep you, er, posted, as long as the Ethernet is working in the control
room.
Peace.
