I just asked him for more information. I'll post his response. I have no
reason to doubt him... he has collected hearses for years and has gone
through many. He currently just bought a 1976 triple loader.

The original Ecto-1 was your friend's car? How does he know it was his? Got
any pictures on the web? Can I ask one more question?
Greg?

The Ghostbusters car was a 1959 Miller/Meteor Ambulance/Hearse (dual use
with side window covers). More specifically, it was my friend Benny's 1959
Cadillac ambulance/hearse. He sold it to a broker in NY who sold it to the
studios for like 4 times what Benny sold it to him for... Oh well.

The Ghostbuster's wagon was a Cadillac ambulance, not a hearse. This
is very coincidental...I've -recently- considered building the
Ghostbuster's ambulance...the timing is scary.
The problem with the hearse, is the back is too boxy. I need the
ambulance. It's also a few years too new.
A hearse would make an AWESOME party barge though. :)
