First I'd like to thank everybody for the help in finding a Delorean. I'm
now the owner of 4754 and it should be winging it's way back to me in the UK
by September. I can wait !!!!
Nothing to do with Deloreans this question but it's kind of related as It's
a problem I have repairing my Lotus. I know there are newsgroups for Lotus'
but you guys seem to know everything so I'd thought I'd ask.
I have let my girlfriend use my Elise so that se cant complain about me
getting a Delorean. Bit of a mistake I think as my girlfriend decided to
spin my Elise into some parked cars and in the process has damaged some of
the fibreglass. Now I have repaired fibreglass before and repainted it in
the past with no problems but im now having some trouble.
The car appears to have been painted in the past with cellulose paint. I
have cleaned and dried the areas I have repaired but where I have rubbed
through the paint when I spay primer onto it it bubbles up. This only
happens along the line of where only layer of paint meats the other.
I think it's due to the fact that there are thinners in the primer and it's
reacting with the cellulose in the old paint.
Does anybody know how to stop this happening. I've heard there is a barrier
type spray I can use but does anyone know it's name ????
