In case anyone is interested, here's an FYI:
The model of D fuel pump is Bosch 0 580 254 954
The model of VW fuel pump is Bosch 0 580 254 957
They look identical in every way. I've talked with some D owners who
have heard of D's running with a VW pump. Once I get my fuel line in
for the VW I'll hook up the pump and let you know if the D's pump
will work in a VW. Also, the VW uses a fuel accumulator that, from
just looking at it, looks identical to the D's. I'll pull the part
number off and double check.
