All cars made nowadays will push freely from DRIVE to NEUTRAL, but you have to press in a release button to make it shift to R, P, 1, 2. Lack of engine turning would cause the power steering to fail. I think this would be the biggest concern. However, after the engine blows, it won't be spinning very fast either. I was a little disenchanted recently driving a rental INTREPID. I was trying to rev to get a rise out of some silly mustang. The intrepid would not rev over about 3k in neutral.
