I had a very similar experience with the same "vendor" When 1697 was wreck he was on the people considering buying it. When I let him know that Erik (didn't mention your name, Erik) was buying it because of a number of reasons., (Similar price, Erik is closer to me, and can pick up the car sooner.) He writes me a nasty email about how he's always tried to help me in the past (keep in mind this is the first dealing I had with the man... we had no past)... and questioning my ethics.. etc.. He told me something to the effect of "When you need help in the future - see if I'm around then" Oh please, don't make me call one of the REAL vendors out there. DMCH, Grady....
