[DMCForum] Re: spark advance/retard -- Get it right or don't post

Good grief no -- have never stated such. "Advanced" means "farther"
from TDC. Show me where I *EVER ONCE* stated otherwise...

Message #7174 clearly states I moved spark 2 degress *FARTHER* from
TDC to stop valve knock on my high compression 460 (did you bother to
notice I'm running straight 93 through it now, otherwise would have
left 2 degrees *CLOSER* to TDC with octane boost...)

Message #7159 clearly states Martin and I use same terminology --
differ only in claimed action of spark wherever is located.

Perhaps would be best if you avoid posts from my nic in future.
Obviously don't read them very closely anyway.

Here's a little jewel from my new Volvo documentation been reading all
night (B28F Manual, Section 2, Group 26, Page 21): "When the ignition
advances the engine efficiency increases and the combustion
temperature decreases."

Guess you're going to claim the Swedes don't know what they're talking
about either, huh.

Predetonation is an uncontrolled explosion. Why do you think spark
gaps are specified? To control flame propogation. Pertronix advises
with its coils not to exceed manufacturer's maximum gap more than .05".

Is better to shoot spark sooner than to let mixture combust on its
own. What in the world do you think those advance mechanisms are doing
on distributor anyway?

Preparing to close this post just saw your first sentence below again.
Irritates ever living mess out of me to have someone claim I said
something I never said. Can I start doing same for you?

And I extend offer for ANYONE to stop by my driveway for real live
demonstrations. Or are you going to claim I've mounted all my harmonic
balancers backwards?

Geez...
