[DMCForum] Anyone successfully removed a wide stripe in one piece?

I've been driving around for close to a year now with no stripe on my
right rear quarter panel.  DMCH replaced the quarter panel because the old
one had been mangled in a collision, but they don't have the wide side
stripes (even though their site claims they do).

I've got the mangled quarter panel with the stripe on it, and I'd really
like to get the stripe off it and onto the new panel, but I haven't tried
anything yet, because I know I've probably got only one chance to get it
right.

So, has anyone removed the wide factory stripe and managed to do so in one
piece?  And if so, any advice on how to reattach one thusly removed?

Also, if anyone happens to have a set of wide side stripes (or at least
the section for the right rear quarter panel) they're willing to part
with, let me know.
