Not meaning to be nasty, but I bet you have directional speaker cables 
hooked up to your amplifier, don't you? I love reading hi-fi comics from 
time to time and this is just one of the "facts" that's commonly 
accepted when you walk into a hifi shop.

Why not pull off the oil breather cap? That's a 2" hole direct onto the 
LH rockers*. You might like to note when you've started your engine in 
this state that the fumes appear to "steam" from the breather tube. This 
is due to the small amount of exhaust gas constantly being fired into 
the crank case - no piston ring is a perfect seal, and it's the nature 
of any engine that it'll do this

* I usually do this when adjusting the timing because it gives you more 
room to get to the dizzy locking nut.
