[DMCForum] Re: Throttle

U turn may be getting you. Junkyard trick to release old hood cable is
to push through firewall, feed in front of driver's wheel, then pull
straight. Ran into same thing mounting passenger mirror on my AMC:
didn't want to run through dash, so I mounted control on door like
driver's side. Of course cable is twice as long. Made a big loop
inside door. Now barely operates mirror (you basically set once and
leave it). Cable operates mirror excellent in straight line but barely
at all in loop.

Check your throttle spool and throttle plate springs for rust, crap,
etc. Coils need to be able to slide against each other. How does
throttle linkage behave with cable disconnected?

If you've got a pistol grip vacuum pump could actually fill entire
cable sheath with lubricant of some sort. Would need to drive with
floor protection while excess leaks out.
