I agree with Scott that you should only consider this car if you can drive it and inspect it yourself. It looks pretty good on the outside. It's got straight fascias with good paint, the stainless panels look good (the car is under fluorescent light... which will bring out every little imperfection in the stainless), it's got brand new Michelin tires... about $500 installed... which is a good sign the owner spent some money on the car. T he mileage is 35k... which means it's been driven some... which is GOOD. The engine compartment is exceptionally clean... which is also a good sign that the owner liked to keep the car clean, and in good repair. The blue blotch on the firewall means the front frame recall has been performed, but it's clearly visable that the throttle recall hasn't been done. I can't see the coolant bottle to see if it's been replaced with a metal one, and we can't see the relay compartment to see if the electricals have been take care of, and we can't see the state of the frame. The interior really isn't that aweful... I've seen sooooo much worse. Yes the dash is completely sunburnt, but it appears to be without cracks. The seat covers are toast... but these are all stupid cosmetic things. They don't prevent you from driving the car, and it doesn't matter when you replace them. Where the deciding factor in this car is how it drives, and what kind of records/upgrades it comes with. I personally wouldn't buy a DeLorean without fulfilling both of the above requirements. From looking at all these things, I'd say this car might be a decent buy for $10,000-$14,000 dollars. To give you some perspective, I paid $12k for my car and it was in better cosmetic condition, and came with $12k in reciepts of parts bought over the past 2 years. I've spent a few thousand per year on it, and it will require many more thousands of dollars to get it up to where I want it, but that's the reality of owning most any DeLorean. You can buy and own a good DeLorean on a budget if you're smart, and shop around. Again, only consider this car after it passes a driving inspection, and a service history can be proven though.
