Re: [DMCForum] remote door unlock

Hi Mike

It was probably me - certainly it isn't rocket science :-) The DeLorean
lock system uses the same system as 95% of cars on the road. There're
two wires running to each door which work on a switched earth system -
ie you ground one, the doors lock, you ground the other, the doors
unlock. Each door has a sliding contact which sends the signal to the
module to fire the solenoids. To wire up a remote unit you just use
scotch locks to plug the unit's earth outputs to the appropriate wires
on the lock module. See the following diagram

http://www.dmcnews.com/Techsection/graphics/lockcircR1.jpg

The brown/slate wire is the Lock sense (earth that, the doors will
lock). Brown/pink is Unlock etc.

I bought the Ultrastarters 2250M from mypushcart.com so I had a remote
starter and alarm. You need to connect (from memory)

Door pin switch
Handbrake switch
Brakelight
Ignition relay
Accessories relay
Starter relay
(Via 2 decent sized diodes), the indicators
Lock sense
Unlock sense

Ground
