Ha ha ha I can get the top of the door off, and most of the lower. The only part I have trouble with is the handle bolts. I have had a door apart once before, but I took the handle off from the side not the top. Rob said I have to use a flexible socket set. I am pretty sure I have one, and will tinker with it later on, it is getting dark now and frankly I am a bit tired to play with this minute problem anymore today lol. I will get back to it shortly and see what's going on _______________________________ Jack Stiefel - 104.9 Radio Cape Vincent Live Internet Radio at 104.9 Radio Cape Vincent <http://www.radiocapevincent.com/> Take a trip to the historic General Delos Sacket House <http://www.sacketmansion.com/> Proud member of the Audiorealm Radio Network <http://www.audiorealm.com/> -----Original Message----- From: Walter Coe [mailto:Whalt@xxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, May 05, 2003 4:54 PM To: DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [DMCForum] dumb question door window problem > I have had a problem over > the last year or so where the motor would not kick in unless I rocked it > back and forth and it eventually kicked in. I assume you are talking about rocking the switch and not the motor itself. > Could that have been the motor going bad? If swapping switches doesn't change anything then your problem is probably in the door or the connection in the roof like Rob suggested. I think it is most likely that the problem is in the door. The window motor should have two wires going to it. These wires terminate in 1/4" female spade lug terminals. The corresponding male spade lugs on both the OEM and Electric Life motors use 3/16" spade lugs, so the fit is always loose and never perfect. Try reaching your hand in there and jiggle the wires. The location is very hard to reach. Also try hooking a test light or meter across these wires to see if you get 12V. If you do then you know the problem is in the motor. If not then start looking under the T-panel. I had an Electric Life window motor go bad because the installer forgot to remove the appropriate weather proofing/drain plugs in it. They are tiny plastic caps that plug holes in the motor housing. The one on top should be left in place to keep water out. The one on the bottom should be removed to let water out that may get in anyway. Mine filled with water and rusted up. Rob sold me a new motor instead of having to buy the whole assembly. I suppose your next question is how to remove the door panel? ;-) Walt Yahoo!
