Re: [DMCForum] delorean recalls

My first DeLoran was a "late" 81 - VIN 6530. I bought
it new. I believe that the recalls were prior to my
cars "birth" date, but in any event I did not receive
any recall notices. In fact, even "warranty" work
went out the window.

I purchased my car in Sept 82. On the day I took it
back to the dealer (Tate Cadillac, Pomona CA) for it's
"30 day" warranty check-up, I was asked if I had read
the morning's paper. I said, "No, why". I was told
that JZD had been arrested the night before and
therefore, all warranty work was cancelled.
Fortunately the cars in that vin range were some of
the best assembled and I didn't really have any early
ownership problems.
