RE: [DMCForum] Linear Actuator

Why could you not have a pin that can be pulled to release the actuator?
Many cars have long pull cables hidden inside the car in the event the
power
trunk release or fuel filler door fails. If you are going to install
custom
parts then they will probably require other modifications as well. I
realize it could be more difficult with the De Lorean door as compared to
the Bricklin door as they have different locations for the actuator/door
strut.

I thought about a linear actuator to open and close the door, but could
not
come up with a answer to the question of how to get in or out in the event
of electrical failure or dead battery. Even if you were strong enough to
lift the door, there is no way to release the linear actuator (as there is
on the lift in a Bricklin, a pin that you can remove).
