I did not read your comment on MPG as being DeLorean
specific.  It seemed more like a general statement of
engine power VS fuel economy.
So, I will agree that there is a inverse relationship
(in general) of Fuel economy VS Engine performance,
but as you said yourself there are plenty of other
factors that go in to that equation.
FWIW, I have never calculated my MPG.  Probably
should, to keep track of any problems..  But I find I
can cut my range per fill-up in half based on how
heavy my foot is, so the number is not very useful.
