Good thinking. I chose not to buy a mobile-home, probably because I
remember what Hurricane Hugo did when I was a kid... I'm considering
getting a condo to acquire equity, but I'm going to get the DeLorean
first (as Andrei suggested, heh). I haven't been waiting for a condo for
that long, but I've been waiting for a DeLorean for ten years. ;)

That's just what my parents did for me when my first car was wrecked and
I was only working part-time. I sent Dad a check every month. I never
once asked for their assistance -- they just volunteered it. They also
co-signed with me on my first car note since I had very little credit
history (I didn't have a "job" job until I left high school). Again, I
didn't ask for them to do it...

There are certain things a person will do for a child, it just varies
from parent to parent -- even husband and wife will sometimes disagree
on just how much to help a child out, especially after the child turns
18. But every parent wants to see their child do well, and I think most
will do anything in their power within their own self-set limits of
reason. My parents never had a lot of money because they had to take out
a loan early in their marriage, to send one of the children to a special
school. And guess who lent them the money for that... Grandmom and
Grandad! LOL
