On the Saturn, the easiest way to change the oil is to remove the Right
front tire and remove a piece of the plastic fender well.  Its held in with
three little plastic reusable rivets. By doing this, you have a straight
shot at the oil filter.  I can see the brake pads when I do this.

You LOOK at your brake shoes every 3000 miles?  And you've never replaced
them?  
Damn, I wish I had your sort of free time.  Drum brakes have got to be the
worst invention ever.  I haven't fixed a set of drums that weren't a
pain in the @ss.   Maybe because I don't take the drum off every 3000
miles. HAHA
I'm sure Bill has a few cars with drums on the rear- I wonder what he thinks
of them... I would associate disc brakes being the successor of drum brakes
much like EFI has succeeded carburetors.
