Torque-wise, that's bang on the money with my Diesel. However 2700lbs is 
only 1.2 metric tonnes. That's less than the weight of a DeLorean before 
you've added a trailer.

My Xantia has a clever hydrulic suspension and braking system which 
allows for a larger trailer weight, but I was still pushing it and the 
engine was working bloody hard on the hills in eastern France. It's also 
a 5-speed. My engine has an auxiliary oil cooler, temp guages for the 
oil and coolant and is designed to handle towing. I was glad of the 
drizzle as the oil temp was alarmingly high at the top of some of those 
hills!

Interesting to note that your 3 litre V6 petrol barely puts out more 
than my 2 litre diesel - 150hp vs my 110hp, and mine red lines at 4500 
rpm :-)
